I also have the same view, there are loads of live albums that seem pointless to me, I much prefer listening to the studio albums. But there are a few live recordings that I do like, I can’t think of them off the top of my head.

I know what you mean Mark, but there are some cracking live albums out there.
Misty In Roots - Live At Counter Eurovision for example. Their studio albums (or even their Peel Sessions) never really captured the same rawness in my opinion
Lou Reed - Take No Prisoners is a fascinating live album for lots of reasons
Sinatra At The Sands - probably one of my favourite Sinatra albums as the Count Basie orchestra are on fire and Frank is having a ball
Modern Lovers Live - again, seems to capture a rawness that isn't on the studio albums
Velvet Underground - 1969 Live. The new masters especially show how powerful those post-Cale songs could be when they let loose on them
I'm sure I've missed some, but these are exceptions to the rule. I could list an awful lot more boring and pointless live albums..

There are some on here who love the Sunday concert shows so if these are not already shared they will love these. Not my era or my thing. Prefer to be at concerts or listen to records. Apart from live recordings - can anyone give me an example of a live recording that is better listening than the studio version that holds up after a few listens unless you were there and it holds special memories ? I struggle to think of any.

No problem.
I also uploaded yesterday two shows from a cassette I picked up on gumtree, I think I mentioned the tape on here the the other day. They are to John peel’s Sunday concert shows, from the 16th and 23rd of May 1971. The 16th of May show has Tir Na Nog and Caravan, The 23rd of May show has the faces. Both are basically complete shows, the faces one is missing the very beginning.
