Wasn't it t he case that a member here recorded them originally, then sold them on eBay, and then were passed to the group.

Thanks, Bill! I think you may be thinking of some of the Festive 50 reels that were sold on eBay a few years ago.

The Decktician is a longstanding Peel fan and DJ, and is I believe on this list - he recorded the reels himself in the 70s from (I think) am radio, and kindly donated the reels a year or so ago (they had been sat in a box unplayed for decades) - we knew they were likely to be edited excerpts, but hopefully we can match shows up with the help of the handwritten tracklistings he also supplied - as you say it is fascinating to hear some of what he used to play in those days - and although a lot of it is available, there will be quite a few tracks that are too obscure to have ever had a digital reissue.
