Regardless of what you thought of the song, Saloon should go down in the
annals of history as the first band to successfully manipulate their fanbase
via the internet to achieve something positive.
As I recall they did get all the votes required for the #1 spot fair &
square, but they did it by email encouraging their fans to vote by the new
method (and of course suggested the song they should pick in order not to
spilt their vote)
Underhand or the heralding of the online era?
