Martin's point about copyright is a fair one. It is not that the BBC is not interested - there are many very enlightened people in archives who would like to do more and want creative ways round copyright issues with groups like this one. - see tony ageh's ideas here - http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/nov/01/tony-ageh-interview-bbc-archive -
and it is also not really today's BBC people's fault that the Peel programme archive is or has been modest. As I never tire if saying, until 1997 it was not policy to record all pop music programmes. The fact the archive had ANY complete "regular" peel shows at all from the station's first 30 years was a miracle!
