As a beta tester I have had longer than most with the new skin, there were
quite a few bugs to iron out, the calendar being the last one (all dates
were blue). I'm more used to the look now, but my main issue (apart from
getting used to the new navigation) is the enforced narrow article width.
This causes many date tracklistings to wrap, and makes using the embedded
spreadsheet tracklistings on some of the year pages look very silly indeed!

Hi Doc

When I first logged on this morning, all I could get for about half an hour
was something that wouldn't have looked out of place in 1996: all bare
bones. Then it reverted to the Monaco (without icons) and I tried the new
skin. Like you, I was very uncomfortable with the look and the annoying
black bar at the bottom of the page: if it hadn't been for Steve's hard
work, I wouldn't have been able to find anything. I have reverted to the
Monaco (now with icons) which I accessed from my preferences, but don't know
exactly how long this will stay (a month, I believe). Admin appear to have a
choice of skin colours: I'll consult with Steve on this. If it is, as you
say, mandatory, it will be difficult to get used to and may even be
off-putting for potential contributors.
What do others think?
Best wishes
Steve (TK)
