Thanks for that Willow. A while back I found out that my Mam had an ancestor called Ralph Ravenscroft from Cheshire, born about 1622. I did a bit of online research and it turns out that he wasn't so much Uncle John as 'cousin' John! well, 10th cousin, but it tickled me no end anyway.
