So what it seems is that when asked for a session the band sent
Peel a full Cd with 'Play what you like' instructions
Peel and producer played 4 of the tracks as a session possibly
with the idea of doing another lot as another session later but never
got around to it.   Later the band decided it was quite good and put 
the lot out
