Dandelion Radio is now a real entity
If any of you have been listening to Rob Da Bank this evening, you may have
heard him mention us. We are finally live and LEGAL. We have all of the
necessary licenses etc.
Just to give you a taster, below is a bit of blurb from our MySpace page
which can be found at http://www.dandelionradio.com
Dandelion Radio is an internet radio station inspired by the work of the
much-missed UK DJ John Peel. In an age where terrestrial radio stations are
increasingly moving towards automated output, combining pre-recorded DJ
links with a predictable playlist, and where most internet radio stations
seem to be simply a stream of uploaded MP3s with no effort on the part of
the DJ, our aim is to provide a challenging, unpredictable and often
uncompromising mix of new and old music, selected by DJs who love it and
presented by those DJs in a traditional radio style in shows recorded as
live. We want to serve the needs of the people who create and distribute
new and interesting music and, thereby, provide a unique listening
experience to listeners, with the spirit of John running through all we do.
The main Dandelion Radio website is currently being revised & updated. In
the mean time any demos/ CDs are welcome.
The first stream is 8 hours long and consists of shows from five different
DJs, Andrew Morrison (The John Peel Disclaimer Man) , Dan Barrell, Mark
Rosney, Neil Jenkins & Rocker. The shows will loop continuously, starting at
midnight, over the next month, so if you can't listen to it in one go, pop
in when you can and see what you get. The target is to update the shows
monthly.
At the moment, being funded entirely from our own pockets, bandwidth is
limited. If you do have trouble listening, PLEASE try again later. Also if
you do get connection problems, send us a message & we'll try & rectify
things.
Happy listening.
Thanks to everyone who has sent in DEMOs & CDs, keep them coming. Everything
gets a listen.
At the moment, we are experiencing Streaming problems, whereby the stream is
supposed to be refreshed each day at midnight, which should be sorted very
shortly.
