Many thanks, Tim. I've just heard the Sept 1977 show and it's great ! Very good audio quality as well, which is a real plus. Funny how Peely refuses to play the Heart song but later plays the Cate Brothers which seems to be very similar musically (maybe worse, Heart weren't that bad - check out "Barracuda"). Nice that he plays Sad Café (Tony Wilson was a huge fan apparently). I like the mix of new and old wave, with a few "inbetweenies" like Motorhead, the Motors and possibly Thin Lizzy. Three years later, the show would be totally devoid of any "old school" rock unless listed in the NME list of new-wave-friendly acts eg Iggy Pop. I certainly don't think he'd have played the Cates in 1980 ! I'm sure Peely played a tribute to Lowell George in 1979 and said how good he was, even though Little Feat were surely the epitome of the sort of music that caused Punk rock to happen. Funny old world, Saint....
