completely coincidentally Cable Street - a session track from a Janice Long session was played by Steve lemacq on 6music - I think on Monday - he also said he had got hold of their new LP and was planning to play - it doesn't seem to be on line yet ...http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04j5vch but it is possible to grab it (beyond me I'm afraid) from online whne it beomes avaialble you will at least one. I'm also on teh case in getting you a good contact at BBC who another band has managed to get tapes out of - did cost some money but less if you teh band in question!

Would hope we can help Nigel - is primary session source (MW) still recuperating!? - a fave band from their early days and my son has just discovered my first two albums and singles in my vinyl collection. Memory of stomping to them at various anti fascist events in early 80s...

I am sure someone said that people were able to get hold of bbc sessions now as artists - I will ask someone who I thought was doing this.

M

Hi Nigel
There is a show available from December 1984 on the Peel Wikia featuring the ICA set but was part of a tape collection recorded on AM radio and this may be the source of the YouTube videos.
There is nothing showing on the BBC International list of In Concerts which are available for rebroadcast on other radio stations.
I take it you have tried the BBC direct? I have seen some ICA shows rebroadcast on 6Music so it is entirely possible they have a copy.
Regarding sessions then again I would try the BBC though I have three of the first and two of the second session in FM quality
Stuart.

>All, new to this group so be gentle with me! I represent The Men They Couldn't Hang, still going strong after 30 years. We are looking at releasing the 2 sessions and Live at the ICA that were recorded in 84/85. Does anyone here have any experience of obtaining copies and licensing? Also any decent recordings would help as no-one in the band has anything better than the postings on You Tube. Archiving wasn't much of a priority for them back then! Any help anyone could give would be appreciated. I've been in contact with Ken Garner who has kindly given me some ideas but i was also directed her. Thanks in advance. Nigel.
