He definitely did visit Zimbabwe, although I'm not sure exactly when, or whether it was with Andy K. I think it might have been soon after the country had gained independence. He later wrote a rueful piece in Radio Times, saying how he'd thought of the place as an earthly paradise compared to Thatcher's Britain and never suspected it would turn into a dictatorship...
