Thanks very much to steve and humphrey and a youtube video, with all this help  i managed to change the file extension to mp3 on vista and can now play it on vcl player by dragging and dropping the file because it didn`t show up in control>programmes>default programmes when i made the neccesary changes in the ''set control panel ''make a file type allways open in a specific programme'' maybe i should have done this first before i changed the file extension as it certainly wont play this text file [as it was] on  ''open''vcl [ i can live with dragging and dropping the file anyway], thanks everybody.

Hi Mike, changing the file extension is so easy. In Windows 7 (if you have XP, it's a similar process), click Organise in the folder you have the file in, and then go down the list to Folder And Search Options. In there, click the View tab, and go down the tree to 'Hide extensions for known file types.' The box will be ticked: untick it, click Apply and OK, and now all your files will show the extensions at the end of the name. Change txt in the POTP file to mp3, Apply and OK, and then tick the 'Hide extensions'-Apply-OK and you're all set.

All the best
Steve (TK)
