It's just the last part of the file name that is changed, not the contents. Just rename file.txt to file.mp3

In there, click the View tab, and go down the tree to 'Hide extensions for known file types.' Change txt in the POTP file to mp3, Apply and OK, and then tick the 'Hide extensions'-Apply-OK and you're all set.
