Welcome Paul

If you could list in date order the concerts you have that would be fantastic.

I also went through a period of taping in concert, I recall it tended to be late on a Saturday afternoon in the mid 80s.

Hello, newbie here. Been following this group for some time now and figured it's time to get involved :o)

The collection I have is not related to John Peel but I do notice that some of you have 'In Concerts' in your collections so this might be of interest to some.

I have around 750+ 'In Concerts' dating from various years and am currently in the process of transferring them all to CD. I've already done around 200 to CD already.

Everything was recorded myself onto TDK 120's - so there are no tape flips, no missing bits and sound quality wise (the most important bit), ALL are pristine, hiss free and drop-out free. I always was a little over fussy about sound quality!

I have pretty much every 'In Concert' broadcast from late '88 to around '95/'96 - I pretty much lost faith in the Beeb 'In Concert' output after that, apart from a few oddments that is. The 200 that I've already transferred are various years from 1970 up to 1988 and again, ALL in superb sound quality.

Here are a couple of piccies for those interested:

This is the next batch I'm starting on next week:

This is the (tank of a) machine they were all originally recorded on and is being used for the transfer to CD:

This is how I documented the tapes - many also have the 'Radio Times' snippet included along with the transmission date:

Irony - looking at the above piccie, the double bill on the tape is Blur!

Sorry for the length of my first post, I just thought I'd let those interested know the mammoth project I'm on with. Also, if I can help anyone with transmission dates or anything else relating to the 'In Concert' series, fire away! I can't promise to know the answers, but I'll do my best to find out.

Regards,

Paul.
