and it's not really about reindeer roasting !

The first couple of verses apparently translate as

Now I'm going to sing
And you'd better listen to me
I won't be your second-best girl
Though you seem to think so

The boys of this village
Are a pretty poor crowd
Their hats all askew on their heads
And their mouths like a pigsty door.
