He Played What?

OK so you should never be surprised what was played, butI was while I was looking to properly date the Peel show with a Wishbone Ash Concert that I wrote down as November 1976

http://www.peel.mooo.com/peelgroup/BillfromNorthWales/00Archive/1976-11-XX%20John%20Peel%20Radio%201%20(Wishbone%20Ash%201976).mp3

is more likely early 1977. (9th February 1977 maybe)

Any way I am sure it is on page 216 or 217 of Ken's "The Peel Sessions" book.

But while I was looking at those 2 pages I said "He played what" a number of times.

I mean i was there (man). I listened most week nights but really don't remember.

Now I know, like me, Peel loved Prog rock Genesis, and his caustic comment on the FF of 1976 does not fool me.(Joke)

So how about (remember you can play along at home)

17/12 1976 "2 from Genesis LP "Wind and Wuthering"

and then 6/1 1977 "All in a Mouses Night" from the same LP

Oh yes.

Still not convinced?

Then how about 6/2 1976 "Genesis LP "Trick of the Tail" & i/v with Phil Collins.

In fact that for me is the new Holy Grail. I rally want to hear John Peel interview Phil Collins.

Another surprise might be:

2/4 1976 LP No Earthly Connection by Rick Wakeman.

But you know all he ever did was play music that no-one else was playing, so inevitably some became idiots or superstars or both.

I hope some more 1971-1976 shows appear one day.....
