Hello Bill,
thanks a lot for your kind reply. As I found out now the show is not from 1989. My handwriting was so bad that I accidently read an eight as nine. So the sticker onb my tape says 27.12.1988.
I don't think it's a complete show. Side A starts not from the beginning and lasts about 45 minutes while Side B of the tape runs until the end of the show and is about 36 minutes long. sound quality is very nice and I'm pretty sure it's from his GERMAN show on BFBS. This makes sense as I do not find a show with that tracklisting. The show contains tracks by The Rockstars of Love, The Last Drive (a Greek band), Super Black, Happy Mondays, Link Wray, Inspiral Carpets, Sunguru Boys, Eye Dance, Damnsiders, Shadowy Men on a shadowy Planet, Prince Far I & I-Roy, Marxists Brothers, etc.
John tells a long story about his visit to the 70th biorthday of his Father-in-law and about a trip to Zimbabwe, where he saw THE BROTHERS FOUR and THE MARXISTS BROTHERS as well.
Anyway, i will send those links later this evening. I would like to do the work to categorize THIS show on an own WIKI side, but do not really know how to do it in the (layout) way all other contributions were made.
is there any cut&paste tool to do this or what?
I hope that this show hasn't been offered yet, so I can give some joy back to contributors and enthusiasts of the Peel shows.
Cheers
Ralf
