Do the punk divisions depend on how hardcore the band is, or how 'actually 
they're more new wave than punk' they are? But then there is lyrical content 
too. I'm just thinking of records like Gary Gilmore's Eyes by The Adverts, which 
sounds rather lightweight when listened to now, but it tells quite a fab dark 
story. Think I need to check out the much-talked-about Cortinas anyway!

Cortinas get extra points for being early adopters though, unlike The Exploited, 
say. Also as first punk band in their city. Also cos Ask Mr Waverly is one of my 
alltime favourite b-sides.
