1990 and 1991 shows

In case you haven't been following the "changed pages" feature on the wiki, there have recently been quite a number of previously shared shows added there for the first time. I've been concentrating on the 1990/1991 shows (ongoing) while the Steves have been filling in the gaps from last years' new millenium torrents.

Something I've noticed about the 1990/1991 shows is that they generally sound very muffled on the A sides of the tapes, along with fairly severe Dolby mistracking which makes it sound like someone is standing over the loudspeakers with a big heavy blanket and only lifting it for the louder mid and upper range frequency sounds. The B sides do sound better.

It strikes me that these tapes were either recorded, or played back by an autoreverse deck, which does not align the azimuth the same way on forward as on reverse.

This means that for many of these shows, a much better rip could be made, by adjusting azimuth on playback, and perhaps adjusting the Dolby on playback or even turning it off.

I'm not too sure of the origin of the recordings but I think possibly they are the ones referred to in Ken's book. Another Rocker's Revenge project possibly?
