RIP Bernie Andrews

I'm deeply saddened to read about  Bernie Andrews passing. I didn't know him, but we talked on the phone for several hours a couple of years ago. I was writing my dissertation on John Peel's remarkable career and Bernie was enormously helpful. 

He did feel he'd gotten a raw deal from the BBC; but he and John had made peace after having been separated for many years after Bernie's forced removal from "Top Gear."

He is as responsible as anyone for the BBC's remarkable trove of live, in-studio recordings from the 1960's and it cost him, according to him.
