Hi Alan.

With Audacity, a mono recording seems to be the same size as
its "stereo" equivalent but labelling it as 'mono' gives accurate
info when people play/analyse it !

I agree - a good quality mono is better than a hissy/poor stereo.
I rarely sit in a 'stereo' position anyway !

Sounds like what you're doing makes sense !
