Seasonal greetings and final perfumed garden

Hi folks

I thought I'd de-lurk to first of all say a big "thank you" to everybody who has been uploading Peel shows. The amount of great music that has been shared via this group is simply amazing - and long may that continue.

I've just bought myself an external drive and am finally starting to put the approximately 200Gb of Peel recordings that I've downloaded over the last couple of years into some sort of order.

Sadly I've got nothing original to offer in return, as the few Peel tapes that I had somehow managed to get lost during a house move a few years ago.

However, while picking out stuff to listen to over xmas I decided to create an updated version of Peel's final Perfumed Garden show, using Guy Brown's remastered edition (Revision 3 - September 2005) and an off air recording of about two thirds of the show that I bought on eBay ages ago - and I would be happy to share it with anyone who would like a copy.

The off air recording included the latter part of the preceding show (hosted by Willy Walker) and the first part of the following show (hosted by Chuck Blair), so I decided to tag a short section of these onto the beginning and end of the Perfumed Garden.

I included the last 75 seconds of Walker's show prior to him handing over to John Peel, with the word "Peel" timed exactly with the start of the guitar intro to "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band". I also added the first few minutes of the breakfast show (I faded it out after Blair pays a possibly slightly reluctant tribute to Peel's achievements at Radio London).

Apart from that I patched in a few extra words from Peel here and there that were missing from Guy Brown's edition, and divided the show into 5 files of roughly equal length, the first of which is available here:

If anyone would like the rest just let me know.

Seasonal greetings to all! :)

Jake
