That rang a bell straight away, and sure enough, in Ken's book, p. 285, just after the Flying Pickets:
'At this point, regular Peel listeners might expect to find a session by the Flying Creamshots. Mysteriously, I can find no trace of one, although Billy Bragg once reported to Peel he'd just missed them in San Francisco.'
John was fond of making up band names, usually to make a point about not playing band's demos or tapes. Maybe? Hope this helps.
