The Jamaican release was available on import for a good long while in 77 before Virgin picked it up. I think I got my copy in Listen Records on Renfield Street and had to take it back to be replaced as the spindle hole was off centre. I'll see if I can find it to get some details when I get back from work. It would never have gotten a release without Peel's playing of it, that's for sure.

PS went to see Seasick Steve last night, a fun time was had by all :-) Much more enjoyable than the Easy Star All Stars on Monday night.






I reckon he either had a pre-release - or more likely he had an original Jamaican release (was the "Dub Vendor" shop in Soho there in those days - he often said that's where he bought a lot of his reggae imports) - indeed it may only have got a UK release off the back of his playing the record - not many Jamaican 7"s by unknown artists got a UK release in those days!
