Are we sure they're AM recordings, or not FM  recordings made on a poor 
quality tape recorder?
 
I have a few pPeel recordings (justa few random  tracks) made on an old 1970s 
mono radio cassette player, with auto levels etc.  They're FM recordings but 
the sound isn't good.
 
Radio 1 AM transmissions (on 247m) were absolutely  awful in the evening - 
uge amounts of radio interference from other statyions  - the Radio Tirana call 
sign etc! My guess is that we have poor FM recordings  not AM - looking 
forward to hearing some samples.
