I must admit it is a struggle. But with a bit of discipline it can be done.
I play the old Peel tapes in the car and can generally get through approx 5
tapes a week (and that's probably listening to each 2 or more times).
Whenever I can whip my laptop out, I listen to the new stuff from Marcelle,
Rob and Huw.
As to listening to new stuff well some of the stuff he played 15 years ago
still sounds fresh today (and a vast amount, I hadn't heard previously).

Along the lines of having time to listen to the old shows...

Something that has bothered me over the years of taping Peel (about 750
shows) is that this is somehow against the spirit of the man himself. Every
year that goes by since a show was taped means that we are listening to
older and older stuff when Peel himself would have largely consigned that to
history and be listening to the latest record by the latest fresh young
things.

Any thoughts?

Colin.
