Well, up to a point, but remember we are talking about a man who kept
just about the largest record collection in human history, all neatly
ordered and classified! Peel's job *as a disc jockey* was to provide his
listeners with the latest new young sounds, but as listeners I don't
think we need to take that approach so much to heart. When I was younger
and always trying to keep up with the latest interesting records, I
gradually found it more and more stressful because of the idea of
missing out on something good, but I've come to relax more about that.
I don't see any harm in listening to old records or Peel tapes, and let
Marcelle's and other internet programmes give you an idea of what's
happening at the moment.
