First thoughts on Peel Replacements

Have to disagree I'm afraid - Zane et al are merely playing the bands 
which are on fake indie labels as subsidiaries of the majors and are 
supported by expensive pluggers. Well, that might overstate it a 
little, but for the bands who used to send in their demos to Peel - i 
think it's now a general Onemusic address - well, who's going to 
listen to them, never mind play them? Peelie was paid by the Beeb to 
basically listen to new music 24/7 (well, that's how it worked out). 
I think of a band like The Aphrodisiacs, they'd have had to send 
copies of the CD to all of the above anyway - if they went to 
Onemusic and the urban guy happened to be the one who picked it up... 
well, so much stuff would just fall between the cracks.
As someone said, we should give the new presenters a chance. But as 
someone else also said, bye bye radio one.
