Tom,
I've picked one brief comment from your post, because it was the only thing
that jarred with me.

Clare and I had some friends round for a meal this evening. Neither of them
are big music fans, I doubt either of them have listened to Peel in ten
years. Both of them, in seperate conversations, said how sad the news was. I
really don't think we're on our own at all.
