Well I was an occasional Peel listener (due to the hours as much as 
anything).

Well much as I really liked some of the things Peel brought to us 
(Hefner, B+S, HMHB, that Caroline Martin record in the FF etc etc), I 
also felt he played a lot of completely unlistenable rubbish. Which is 
fine, that was his job, without the shit you don't find the diamonds. On 
this list I tend to play this up I guess because there always seems to 
be an excessive level of musical snobbery on here. I think the man 
himself shows how people shouldn't be so precious with his answer to the 
pop question in the latest Q.
