Yeah, Coxon was great - his guitar playing can make it sound like two acoustics going at once sometimes - chordal strummings plus picking out melodies. He spent some time hanging around in the studio that was serving drinks and snacks, but Damon (like Polly) didn't really seem to hang out before or after their sets - if they did, I didn't see them.
The Shelia/Amsterdam dedication was very poignant, as that was the song I most associate with John (even more so than 'Teenage Kicks') and I've been tryingto track it down for ages. Amsterdam are now signed up to a new label called Beat Crazy Records, and 'Does This Train...' will finally be released as a single next year (as John had hoped, for such a long time). A classic song, and a real tear jerker when played through Maida Vale's loud speakers on the night - everyone stopped and went silent when Sheila spoke and the record got played. We were all really listening to the lyrics. I got Rob Da Bank to play it on air in the weeks following John's death, and it was unsettling that Sheila picked the same track to sum him up. I only hope the song gets the success it deserves in 2005.

I though she was good as well listening at home. Clearly not everyone
did though, this is from someone from the Hefner list (who got to go
because he was the only person with the wit to email Darren),

The other funny thing I remember came at the end of PJ Harvey's set.
Darren
lent over to me and said "What did you think of her then?", to which I
replied "Really good. I've never seen her before." His response?
"I think it's all complete bollocks!"

In the same room? Any interaction? I thought Coxon was very good BTW.
