Was that the newsgroup?  I have completely given up on newsgroups as soon as I discovered, the hard way, that junk mail spammers harvest e-mail addresses from newsgroup posts.

Anyway there is a Radio 1 John Peel Christmas card at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/postcards/john_peel.shtml
plays a very low fi greeting... rather lame I'm afraid.
