Hi, All!

Peel's show has always been about playing the new stuff that no other Radio 1
shows will play.

A sign of the vast improvement in Radio One over the last few years is that a
lot of the new Rap, Dance, Drum and Bass etc now gets played first by Jules,
Westwood, Fabio & Grooverider etc, so Peel has at least some of the pressure
off him in these fields.

I think he was the first to play that Rouge 12" last week - great record!

Since so many great records came out this year, I personally will be voting
for the same three records in both charts. If everybody did that it would
render the all time one obselete, and Peelie would be able to play us more
new stuff, which he's always complaining he doesn't get enough time to play.

The Peelentury has been fascinating, (but how are they going to find any good
records from the '80s?), but if you think about it, its deprived us of four
or more new records a show for a hundred shows.

That's 400 new tracks we'll probably never hear, there must be some great
stuff piling up in the corridors and garden sheds of Peel Acres.

Perhaps Radio 2 could offer Peel a nostalgia show (Like the once great Billy
Bragg now has), so he could keep his proper show for new stuff.

He'd then need a footie talk show on 5 live, and to take over "Mixing It" on
Radio 3, and he'd have followed Ivor Cutler's example and broadcast on all
five BBC national radio stations!

I'm rambling now, so I'll go.

Cheers,
