i never heard of the box.

i must admit, i found torrents to be be a bit of a nightmare.

at the end of the day, it was probably me just being impatient.

i did use them more than once, but i just felt i was in the middle of a really rude "gimme gimme" zone.

you make the mistake of reading the comments on a release that you're interested in and you realise the mentality of some of these people.

a lot of stuff not available on megaupload etc was only found on torrents, but i couldn't bear the angst of not knowing if you going to wait a week with a 2kb connection, just to get to the end stretch...then the seeds all die,,arrghhh!!

i bet when that jp torrent compilation came around it must've felt like xmas, though :)

Just logged on to TheBox and this message came up:

It is with great sadness that we must announce the closure of TheBox.bz, effective on September 1st. This decision has not been an easy one but, given the increasingly hostile climate towards torrent sites as of late, we feel it's a necessary move.
On September 1st, the torrent section of the website will be deactivated. As TheBox has always been as much about community as about sharing, forums and private messages will remain functional for a while longer. Afterward, we will securely wipe all account details before retiring the server for good.
Thank you for being a part of TheBox. It's been a fun ride.

So it looks as if it's too late to catch any of the things you might have missed. Megaupload was just the thin end of the wedge.
