 I loved the Pastels - one of the big inspirations for the whole C86 scene - partly for their punk attitude - you didn't have to be good at playing an instrument, if you had something to say you just put it in a song - and they clearly didn't give a fuck whether people liked them or not. Plus they wrote a series of classic 3 chord popsongs:

Interestingly I never got the Pastels either - knew many pals whose judgement I trusted liked them but however many times I listened I couldn't get the genius. Felt the same about Felt. Any suggestions about which tracks I should listen to to test if my feelings are still the same.
Any others with similar blind spots?
