I think Peel more likely used DAT tapes, like he did with German radio station, FSK, when sending tapes of his programmes to BFBS. I suspect BFBS probably used those DAT tapes and recorded over them with some programmes, when they didn't bother to tell him that they stopped transmitting his programmes. Shoddy company practice, in not teling your employee that you are not wanted. I'm sure Peel must have got paid for his services to BFBS. It would be blasphemy if he didn't get paid.
