I think with the 70's prog bands and their 80's/90's equivalents (Cocteaus, the Orb etc.), I think they regarded the LP/album as more of a "work of art" than a 3 minute single. I know they did release singles and EPs but I'm sure their main ambition/pride was/is with the LPs (and I agree, being an album fan). I've never liked Radiohead but I think they were 90% LP orientated as well...
