I have just uploaded the two last cassettes from that batch of 50, well there are two more tapes from that batch, which snapped when I tried to play them, so I need to get those fixed by someone. However there are also a few more shows for me to upload, which are some I have had for a while. A couple have already been uploaded here, but I think that the copies I have might be more complete, or better quality. One of them is John Peel‘s 40th birthday show, complete, from 30th August 1979, also, the complete show from 30th December 1977, and complete 4th Jan 2000, Plus a few more things I think. Anyway, I will stop prattling now and get on with doing it! On 2 Apr 2018, at 00:49, johnpeel3904@yahoo.co.uk [peel] > wrote: Thanks for the uploads Tim. So today as well as uploading The 30th of August 79 and fourth January 2000, I also came across another cassette with part of the show from the 11th of August 82, part of the show I had uploaded previously, but I have combined this new section into a new file called John Peel 11th Aug 1982 longer version. Is it possible for this file to replace my original one on the wiki? I have also uploaded A section of the 1st of April 99, with PJ Harvey live etc. On 2 Apr 2018, at 22:55, johnpeel3904@yahoo.co.uk [peel] > wrote: Thanks for these uploads Tim. The second tape included on side 1, a 45 minute portion of 19th December 1983 http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/19_December_1983. Other than the mangled bit at the start and the odd fade out, this is a good sonic upgrade for that part of the show which has already been fully shared. Side 2 contained a rather ropy sounding recording of a Ramones album while the 3rd tape was a couple of Tony Blackburn Top 20 shows from 1983, which I will leave to Tim to share if he wishes to! Guessing that most of this is from Peel shows of 23rd and 24th (a new show) of January. The 23rd was one which I had taped quite a lot of tracks from too, which I have spliced together into a best guess running order on the date page. I'm only deciding where the KJ tracks appear on side 2 based on the fact that John would not willingly have played Ian Dury or the Pretenders in 1984. I'm guessing that the later tracks of the Jensen show sound better is that you could switch to FM after 8PM as BBC Radio London stopped for the day and allowed Radio 1 to use the frequency - though I see that the latest available date on Genome that mentions Radio London is 1981 when they instead let Radio 2 use the frequency (which must have been incredibly irritating if true as they already were hogging FM). The first January 1984 share was predominantly from 3rd and 5th January, again new Peel dates on the wiki! Not sure where the Culture Club live set came from...
