And we all wore black (for a bit)!
That takes me back to a particular period in time. The diversity that was unleashed by punk that was a full 7 or 8 years before this flowering of the gothic still astounds. Also odd how some jumped from youth cult to youth cult and others got stuck in one of these grooves for ever - never been to Whitby for the goth weekend but I presume it still flourishes ...

Thank you
M

 Subject: [peel] Latest KevH Tapes

The next batch of KevH Tapesare now ready.

Tape 16 starts with Action Pact from already available show 22nd February 1982,then Theatre Of Hate's third from 11th May 1982, adding a track to that show.Next Au Pairs from new show 22nd April 1982, and UB40s 2nd from alreadyavailable show 27th April 1982. Finally (Shambeko Say) Wah!'s third session, from 18th May 1982, new for that show, and the first recording of the sillyversion of You'll Never Walk Alone on the wiki.

Tape 19 begins with the complete Luddites only session, from new show 19thOctober 1983 (only 1 track is available from its repeat). Then on to probably19th January 1984 for New Model Army's only session, a new section of thatshow. It's not 100% clear that it is from this show though, but more likely, from John's comments. Next In Excelsis from new show 28th February 1984,finally Alien Sex Fiend, another version of the session from 15th May 1984.

Tape 27 starts with Danse Society's first evening show session, listed as aJensen session in Ken's book, but it is definitely Richard Skinner presentingon the 12th April 1983, who seems unaware that the band had a string of singlesbefore this. Rebel Da Fe's only session follows from new Peel show of the samenight. More proto-goth follows with March Violets' 3rd session from new show 19th April 1983 (first time on the wiki for this session). Then its Blood and Roses from the 26th, previously shared by Kev on its own. Another outing for Bauhaus' debut, this time from new show 2nd May 1983, and Brigandage from the 18th, also previously shared by Kev.
Tape 32 features Southern Death Cult's only session from its repeat  on new show 6th July 1982, then Danse Society from new show 13th September 1982, the session only previously available from Karl's tape on its repeat. Send No Flowers' only session from new show 27th September 1982 (a first share for this session?) Another rarity follows, Brilliant's debut of their only session from 8th November 1982, then another new show, the 11th November with Sex Gang Children's debut.
Tape 36 a bit shorter, and older, kicking off with Martian Dance, already shared by KevH individually, Killing Joke probably from 29th December 1980, then Ski Patrol from 12 May 1981, adding a track for that show.
Tape 37 begins with In Camera's full repeat of their only session, from the repeat on 26th January 1981, a new show, and adding a track to the earlier incomplete share of the debut play. For the first time on the wiki the full Missing Presumed Dead session from 2nd February 1981. then Modern Eon from the 5th, new for that show and adding a track to the only other wiki share of that session. Another version of the Comsat Angels session on the 9th follows, and we wrap up this week's share with Dead Or Alive's debut play of their first session from the 17th, mostly new for that show, and how us Peelites will remember the band.
Thanks again to Kev for preserving then donating these tapes to the cause!
Thanks be also to Rob for the Tom Roche project
