On a similar theme Watusi Rodeo by Guadalcanal Diary and Unguarded Moment by The Church - were both (to my ears) excellent singles but I was similarly disappointed in their long playing contributions.
Not so much one hit wonders - but obscure early 80 Peel band singular contributions to my listening history.
Feel (Really) Free to dis...agree!

I have the Wild Swans retrospective - Incandescent - which of course features about 3 versions of Revolutionary Spirit, but I remember thinking it was not a bad album. And always meant to get the album Rocker mentions but never got 'round to it.
On the subject of Manchester v Liverpool, Paul Morley put his name to a pretty good 3 CD compilation called North By North West, which brings together all of the bands of the Zoo/Factory era.
