Hi Rocker If you mean, how did I defeat you all, I meant (not seriously) that nobody tried to solve it.
 If you mean, how did I arrive at MY BLOODY VALENTINE:
 'Artists' was the definition. 'Medicine Head'= the first letter (or 'head') of the word Medicine.
 Chromosome or Gene=Y. 'Scarlet Letter'=another way of saying the rest of the clue.
