Agreed - Seen The Nightingales 5 or 6 times recently and live they are an unstoppable juggernaut - one hour sets with no breaks between songs - do go see them if you get the chance!

Looks like the Flatmates tracks there are from the second Peel session, slightly after my (first) tenure with them. (I did get to drum on their first Peel session as well as a Janice Long one.)

Cheers!

A BELTER INDEED! And yes i do mean to shout. Saw "that Robert Lloyd" (spot obscure indie reference) the other month and boy he and his new nightingales were truly phenomenal. The best punk gig I have ever seen and I saw a few back in the day ...

Another in the slow trawl through my Peel compilation tapes. This one an all sessions effort that starts with 6 tracks from the best of the year sessions show 30Dec86, then jumps to November 1987 and has the WP's Ukrainian session, 2 great tracks from Robert Lloyd, another 2 belters from the Flatmates and then James and The Sugarcubes.
