What's the sound quality like of these sites? I wonder if some day the shows could be broadcast in carousel format, I know that the RIAA allow this as long as the files are two hours long, are track listed and the listener can't choose which part of the file to listen to. Not so sure about the PRS though On 29 October 2015 12:02:06 GMT+00:00, "johnpeel3904@... Basically a two hour show would be in total around 85MB. I guess they put this at a low bitrate, to prevent people copying the sound onto an electronic equipment. Also if you download the mp3 on their computer (when you download a file, there is no option where you want to save it), it goes into a folder and you have to ask permission to get hold of it, as the folder has a electronic security lock unless you stream play it, which I normally do when I'm there. I guess they do that, to prevent people downloading the mp3 onto the desktop and then send it through to their personal email or cloud. In fact the British Library also block email addresses on their computer systems, such as Gmail, Yahoo, etc., simply to prevent people copying files and sending it to their personal electronic address. The downloading process goes straight into a folder, there is no option of where you want to save it, and if you want to access the file in that folder, you need permission. From stuartb@... Though I was meaning the Library broadcasting the shows themselves, as the carousel method bypasses royalty restrictions On 29 October 2015 14:39:13 GMT+00:00, "johnpeel3904@... If you notice, most of the Peel shows in their catalogue don't have electronic access, unless you request the show beforehand, then they will give you electronic access for you to listen there. Why they can't give all the shows electronic access, without having to request them, I have no idea !! Perhaps they work by demand and supply, in other words, ask for it and you'll get it !!
