Not much is said about the timeframe in which they want to do all this. It seems to me that its not really a priority, simply because it hardly has any value and not really interesting to broadcast. Probably the only ones who really appreciate these recordings are probably archivists / researchers like myself. As you have already established a whole system of digitizing audio-tapes, and over time gained a wealth of experience doing this, I am wondering if you and some of your fellow-Peel group members might be interested in playing a role in digitizing these tapes.Obviously I am not the person who decides this (not even close) but when I read this in an e-mail from one of my contacts at Kaleidoscope, I immediately thought of mentioning you guys. In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Slightly later than planned due to the Mooo archiving, here's my latest batch Apologies it's a bit of a mammoth one - and on the same day as Stuart's update, it might be a bit overwhelming! DB108 contains the first hour and a half of 13 September 1979 One and only session from The Prats 24 minutes previously shared from the 400 Box (one of the tapes I ripped so good to hear more of this show) Mooo DB109 & DB110 contain the full show from 18 September 1979 Sessions from Madness and Wire 1 hour 25 Previously shared via the 400 Box Mooo The rest of DB110 contains an hour and 10 minutes of the show from 19 September 1979 Session from Kevin Coyne (contains the two tracks that were on his official release Peel Sessions CD - including the lovely "Nothing's Changed" - fittingly a song about his hometown of Derby!) Previously unshared Mooo DB111 contains 1 hour 32 mins of the Friday Rock Show from 21 September 1979 Climax Blues Band live at Reading Previously shared in full by Haze Mooo DB112 & DB113 contain the full show from 24 September 1979 Sessions from The Dodgems and Peter Hammill Previously shared in full from the 400 Box Mooo DB113 & DB114 contain nearly the full show from 25 September 1979 Shoes For Industry in session Previously shared in part from the 400 Box and this new DB rip contains the missing section, so a complete show could be assembled (Dr Mango previously assembled the existing segments) Mooo DB114 and DB115 contain the full show from 26 September 1979 Sessions from Elti Fits and Gary Numan 40 minutes previously shared from the 400 Box Mooo DB115, DB116 & DB117 have already been shared in advance containing the full show from 01 October 1979 By special request as it had the unreleased/unshared Members session on it Mooo DB117 & DB118 contain the full show from 03 October 1979 Records only show. Plays new Skids and Gang Of Four singles in full Previously unshared Mooo The rest of DB118 contains the first hour of the show from 08 October 1979 Sessions from The Flys and OMD Previously available in full from the 400 Box Mooo DB119 & DB120 contain the full show from 10 October 1979 Session from Stiff Little Fingers Previously available in full from the 400 Box Mooo The rest of DB120 contains the first hour and 9 minuts of the show from 29 October 1979 Sessions from the Damned and Killing Joke Previously available in full from the 400 Box Mooo DB121 contains the first 26 minutes of the show from 16 October 1979 A repeat of the earlier Kevin Coyne session The first 90 minutes already shared from the 400 Box Mooo The rest of DB121 contains 68 minutes of the show from 17 October 1979 Session from A Certain Ratio Previously unshared Mooo I have another 28 tapes to go, so a little more from me yet. Stuart is on for finishing first. I'm now starting to wonder what I do with a big box full of 150 35 year old tapes. It feels wrong to bin them all, but my wife can't wait to have them out the way! Mooo DB093 and DB094 contain the full show from 25 July 1979 Sessions from Secret Affair and The Expelaires. Only a 22 minute segment from the middle of this show has previously been shared from the 400 Box, so this is a treat Mooo And finally the remainder of DB094 provides the missing 25 minutes from the start of the show on 30 July 1979 The rest of this show was shared right back at the start of the Derby Box project, as it was one of the reference tapes that Chris gave me to test before we made an offer on the whole lot. There might be better tension just at the point you press play as quite often when you put a tape in at first the deck will tighten the tension by rotating the capstan(s), just to reduce the chance of loose tape feeding into the deck. Caught him at Womad mixing for Lee Scratch Perry a few years back - the fact that the Upsetter gave him such honour says more than I could ever. Read the wikipedia entry for Mr Bedward - its amazing. Eg "Later Bedward proclaimed that he was a reincarnation of Jesus Christ and that, like Elijah, he would ascend into heaven in a flaming chariot. He then expected to rain down fire on those that did not follow him, thereby destroying the whole world. In 1921 he and 800 followers marched in to Kingston “to do battle with his enemies.” This however didn’t result in him flying to heaven. Bedward and his followers were arrested and he was sent to mental asylum for the second time where he remained to the end of his life."   On Tuesday, 23 June 2015, 19:15, "Stuart Brooks stuartb@...
