Didn't need to treat the pinch rollers, the Platencene turned up late anyway, but just a good old clean with cotton buds and some old Allsop 3 fluid (don't worry I didn't use the mechanical cassette thingy) and the deck is working great again.

Just in time to extract the best out of: 11th December 1980 http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/11_December_1980, featuring Icarus and Postmen in session. Quite a number of debut plays including Delmontes, Orange Juice, Membranes and Endgames. New show, 94 minutes.

And: 15th December 1980 http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/15_December_1980. Fall #3 repeat and Red Beat debut. Sandanista! in full swing, which I seem to remember lasted well into 1981. Another new show, 94 minutes.
