that was a lovely present - don't recall hearing this - Slits and The Members also contributed to the crossover with 2Tone all about cross over (although they also did a fine line in replication of Ska standards and obscurities, and a more modern form of "traditional" Ska).  Interestingly Rico who guest tromboned on many a ska original (including some may say the first Ska record ) also appeared on 2Tone as ana ratist in his own right as well as being Mr. "Blow, Mr Rico, Blow"

I am about to attempt to add this to Peel Page as a "Reggae session" - thank you to the kind person who will clean up after me

I reckon New Order's Peel session version of Hudson's "Turn The Heater On" (how topical, I'm doing just that every day now ! ) is better than the original, a sterling piece of new-wave-reggae crossover ... The Clash and the Ruts also did very nice reggae/dubby stuff as I remember ...
