yeah you are right - when you listen to the lyrics of c30c60c90 that is exactly what they are saying - I just remember MMcl going over the top and claiming that cassettes were the future and only releasing c30c60c90 on cassette as a "cassette pet" and mine breaking really quickly and me getting pissed off.
I always wished that some music had been killed of by home taping - it might have been fresher for longer - a bit like today when stuff pours out on to youtube etc ... trouble is that there's too much of it and they charge ridiculous amounts for live gigs - a bit like footy!

I remember some clever variation on that BPI line, superimposed over a
cassette skull 'n' crossbones design.. "Home taping is skill in music" ;-)

Something that everybody knew, ("Home taping is killing music" was the rather hollow claim of the industry at the time), but that no-one had actually celebrated before.

indeed.

main source of recordings of the great JP, who was never one to suck up to the
industry.

Although I love the format I think BowWowWow and Talcy Malcy made a false move to think it would replace the irreplaceable vinyl. It has its place for compilations and transferring stuff off the radio in realtime - I presume people can do this on to CD but I still use tapes ...
