There are several shows available from 1994. Go to here, click on any year, then scroll to the bottom of the page. Dates in blue are already available, but not necessarily complete shows, so even if a show you've got says it's already available, you might be able to fill in gaps, or yours might be better quality: http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/Calendar To download a show, click on a date then go to the bottom of the page to 'Available'. If the link is broken, ask on here. Most shows nowadays are uploaded to a server known as the Mooo Server, but someone else will have to tell you how. To download from the Mooo, the username/password are indicated on the login screen. I didn't realise you had a blog, I guess I spent too much time downloading Peel's shows to notice it. Interestingly you made a blog about the Festive Fifty, which I was a big fan as well. These are being uploaded to the Uploads folder of the Mooo. By Patrick's own admission some of the earlier shows suffer from poor quality cassettes and a faulty recorder, but the most recent shows sound very good indeed. I listened to the 5th December 1983 last night (though didn't wikify as I was at work) and it sounded excellent. As there is no shortage of wikification volunteers for these shows Patrick is going to concentrate on uploading the files from now on and leave the tracklisting to anyone else who has the time. The 5th December is the only show that hasn't been tracklisted yet but more will appear! I've now finished cataloguing these and here are the results: L330 and L331 both contain parts of the 1993-07-24 Andy Kershaw show with Del McCoury in session (great fun to listen to). Combined with that already made available on Rob's rip of L329, we now have a complete show (minus about 5 minutes for tape flips). Also on L331, the missing beginning of 24 July 1993 and on L332, a complete Out On Blue Six of uncertain date (although St. Swithin's Day, 15 July, is mentioned). As is now customary with SL Tapes, it starts on side B and ends on A. L334 has a new section of 02 October 1993 , starting five minutes in, and the other side contains part of another Out On Blue Six that I was able to date because Steve left the news in (1993-09-13). Finally, L348 has new sections of 13 March 1993 and 19 March 1993 (the latter including Pavement live). Best wishes Steve (TK) From klacktoveedesteen@... I reckon around 80% of unknown tracks on the Peel wiki site were identified by Shazam. There is also a web version called Midomi (www.midomi.com), which is not as good as Shazam, but surprisingly Midomi is very good at identifying obscure heavy metal tracks, even if the track has a 10 second thrash segment, it surprisingly recognised it, when I tried to identify a metal track on one of Peel's shows. I posted this on KVR and someone suggested I try here: I've searched for these two tracks for the last five years with no luck. I've looked on You Tube, Grooveshark, Torrent sites, Discogs and even tried googling them. I've managed to collect many recordings I lost, but these last two elude me! Trouble is I don't know any firm details about them other than this: 1. They were both played on UK's Radio One John Peel show between August 1993 and June 1994. 2. They are both hardcore electronic/techno tunes. 3. The first has a sample throughout "Joan... I Love You" 4. The second has a sample something like "Voltan"/"Voltaire"/"Zoltan"/"Zoltaire" something sounding like a German word? That's really all I can remember about them!
