Father and Son was a short film at the home of John Peel, exploring his relationships with his father and with his eldest son William. This was shown on BBC2 during John Peel Night, which was broadcast on Sunday 29 August 1999, the night before John Peel's 60th birthday. Peel would subsequently apologise to William both privately and publicly (see 01 September 1999) for his comments about him in the programme.
