I'm in full agreement amigo, and furthermore I'd never consider using wma, but I've forwarded the files exactly as they came to me - I had no part in the tape-ripping & encoding process, and don't personally know the people involved. I've sent a tentative request for the original tapes (if available), but whether anything'll come of it I can't say.
 
Similarly, there may be many more tapes to come or there may be none - the contents of said attic are apparently largely unexplored. I'm happy just to receive the occasional 'present' & not inclined to press the matter...

Thanks again, P. With respect, may I make a suggestion for any future discoveries. The audio quality of these tapes would warrant, in my opinion, a higher conversion bitrate, of, say 192 (inst. of 128)...
I'm such a perfectionist, it's an illness ...
